Germano Di Chello
Germano began his own architecture practice in January 2014 following the completion of significant projects within the UK, Italy and Russia during his time as an Associate Director at Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands (2000-2013).
In May 2016, Germano co-founded with artist David Rickard, the Collaborative Office of Research and Design (CORD); a London based practice to combine architecture, art and research in order to produce innovative design solutions to projects large and small.
Germano has extensive experience in the design and delivery of a wide range of projects including food retail, restaurants, commercial, residential and mixed-use schemes. His completed projects include Milan’s La Rinascente 7th floor food hall, La Rinascente Cagliari, the Harvey Nichols restaurants in Manchester and Edinburgh, Illum in Copenhagen, Moscow’s Tsvetnoy Central Market and the RIBA award-winning JW3 in London.
Germano’s strong design focus centres on combining research into material technologies and construction methods with a desire to craft architectural solutions that respond to and enhance their context.
Germano lives in East London with his long-term partner and two kids. When they have a spare moment, they enjoy visiting the Italian Apennines and the Scottish Highlands.
He’s of Italian-Ecuadorean descent with a love for chocolate making which he always enjoys afterwards with a fine malt whisky.
