BRIEF: Texas-based Whim Hospitality purchased England's oldest hotel in April 2021 and have set about a substantial redevelopment of this historic property in the 12th century town of Malmesbury, Wiltshire. As their first UK property, they enlisted the consultancy's help to recruit and build the management team, advise on operating systems and procedures, and plan for future expansion into additional properties locally.

STRATEGY: Our first task was to recruit a strong, experienced General Manager to take the helm and assist the senior team in launching the business under its new brand. Subsequent recruitment of key HOD's, advice on the implementation of new PMS / EPoS and Audio equipment, and devising a property-wide training and development plan helped to create a robust platform for future growth of the business.

RESULTS: The owners are now in the process of purchasing the Abbey House & Gardens venue within the town, and looking to develop a series of off-property suites to increase the levels of luxury the Old Bell Hotel affords.
