CASE STUDY - SAVOY
CLIENT: Savoy Hotel
BRIEF: As part of the Fairmont Hotels £220m refurbishment of the iconic London Savoy in 2008-10, the consultancy was engaged to create and deliver the bespoke Savoy Tea Shop & Patisserie.
STRATEGY: Advising on spatial layout for the shop, retail units design brief and merchandising strategy for fresh, chilled and ambient products. Working closely with the Fairmont management team and specialist design agency Pentagram, the consultancy evolved a range of luxury food packaging that embodied the heritage, quality, and opulence of the Savoy brand whilst offering guests a robust, yet beautiful way of taking a memento of their stay at the hotel away with them. FMC sourced all of the fine teas and handmade preserves, and advised on the fresh retail products made in-house.
RESULTS: The hotel re-opened in October 2010 to international acclaim and the Savoy Tea Shop & Patisserie has traded strongly from day one.
